OVERVIEW
Cobramus is a debt collection company operating in a space that can often feel impersonal and complex.
Our mission was to rebuild both their marketing website and client-facing platform, not only making it functional and intuitive, but also approachable and trustworthy.
PART 1
Marketing Website: Reshaping first impressions
Our goal was to redesign the entire website experience to better connect with Cobramus' audience and clearly communicate their value, faster payment processing, better cash flow, and an empathetic, professional approach to collections.
☄️ What I did:
Led UX research through stakeholder interviews, surveys, and a full audit of the original website.
Defined user personas ranging from individual clients to small business owners.
Mapped user journeys to align expectations with real business outcomes.
Built a clear information architecture, drastically improving the navigation and hierarchy.
Designed the full UI system with a visual identity that felt credible, calm, and clear, avoiding anything that felt too aggressive or cold.
Developed the site on WordPress, ensuring full responsiveness and long-term maintainability.
🤓 Why it mattered:
This wasn’t just a design facelift, it was a brand reset.
By simplifying the copy, streamlining key flows (like “submit a case” or “contact us”), and rethinking tone and layout, we helped Cobramus feel more human and more helpful, essential for a brand dealing with sensitive financial matters.
PART 2
Client Platform: Designing a tool that actually works
While the website was the public face, the platform was the real powerhouse. We designed a web app where clients could upload invoices and track their collections in real time.
🧠 Our approach:
We treated this as a product from day one. That meant understanding the day-to-day pain points of clients trying to recover overdue payments — from messy file uploads to lack of visibility on progress.
Researched and benchmarked the market — what were other platforms doing wrong?
Created user personas for different client types (freelancers, accountants, company reps).
Mapped goals for both sides: Cobramus needed operational efficiency; clients needed speed, clarity, and peace of mind.
Designed clean, functional wireframes and iterated based on internal testing.
Crafted a crisp visual design system, drawing from the brand’s professional tone but adding warmth through layout, spacing, and microcopy.
🔑 Key UX features:
Clear invoice upload system with guided steps and drag-and-drop support.
Real-time status tracking for each collection.
Secure messaging and documentation system.
Fully responsive design for desktop and mobile use.
POST LAUNCH & OPTIMIZATION
After launch, we stayed involved to monitor usage patterns and optimize flows.
We ran lightweight usability tests and worked with Cobramus to simplify onboarding, shorten upload times, and improve clarity across error states and status messages.
OUTCOME
Improved clarity and trust in both the website and the platform.
Faster adoption by new clients thanks to a streamlined experience.
A consistent, professional brand identity across all touchpoints.
