OVERVIEW
Fincashop is a mobile app designed to help people living in shared or community settings — from flatmates to neighborhood co-ops — manage their essential household services from one place.
Whether it’s electricity, water, gas, Wi-Fi, or mobile plans, users can monitor active contracts, explore new providers, and manage everything in-app, with clarity and ease.
MY ROLE
This project started with a call from a former CFO I’d worked with.
He had an idea for an app that would simplify how communities manage and contract their household services, and he needed a high-fidelity prototype to pitch the concept to investors.
The goal was to formalize the vision, not build an MVP, just enough to bring the idea to life.
He shared a FigJam board with some early thoughts. We collaborated to define a lean, focused flow, something functional but streamlined.
He had one specific design request: the entire UI had to be in shades of blue. No accent colors, no extra flair, just blue. It was an unusual constraint, but one that became part of the app’s visual identity.
BACKGROUND
I led the project from concept to prototype, focusing on clarity, utility, and simplicity. My process included:
🧠 Scope Definition & Feature Prioritization
Working closely with the founder, we identified just the key moments needed to demonstrate the product’s value, managing active services, browsing new ones, and handling everything within one ecosystem.
🎨 Brand Identity & Visual Direction
I developed a minimal but strong brand identity around the client’s 🔵 blue-only requirement. By playing with contrast, hierarchy, and UI patterns, I created a system that felt cohesive, legible, and approachable, without relying on additional color.
💡 UX & UI Design
I mapped the end-to-end user journey and designed each screen with accessibility and clarity in mind. The experience was intentionally simple, designed to feel familiar even to non-tech-savvy users.
📱Prototyping for Pitch
The final prototype was high-fidelity and interactive, intended to support pitch meetings and make the vision feel real. It helped position Fincashop not just as an idea, but as a potential product ready for development.
OUTCOME
The prototype helped the founder frame his idea in a clear and compelling way, visually refined and easy to understand.
With a lean flow and focused UI, the app demonstrated how even essential utilities could be simplified and centralized in a community context.
Fincashop remains in the conceptual phase, but the work successfully kickstarted conversations with potential investors and collaborators — turning a rough FigJam sketch into a real, fundable opportunity.
